Economic aspects of intellectual property rights

Industrial Property Office of SR (IPO SR), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information (SCSTI) organised the regional conference Economic Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights in the SCSTI in Bratislava on May 6.

Experts from home and abroad (Hungary, Poland, Spain, Moldova) discussed the impact of the intellectual property on the overall capacity of the economy of countries, on the innovation potential, increasing the competitiveness of companies and also on creating the knowledge-based society.

Topics like WIPO activities for countries with transition economy and developed countries; Increasing company profits by using of intellectual property (HU); Activities of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office to support small and medium-sized enterprises (ES); Strategies, trends and new challenges in relation to economic issues of the intellectual property (PL); National infrastructure for supporting technology transfer in Slovakia – NITT SK – and experience of the Slovak Academy of Sciences with the technology transfer with using financial resources from NITT SK (SK); The Framework concept and structure of smart specialisation strategies RIS3 in Slovakia (SK); Support for Internet economy and intellectual property (SK); Royalties used in the valuation of intellectual property with emphasis on trade marks (SK) dominated.

The event was organised within the NITT SK project.
